Since he began practicing law in 1996, attorney Jacob Shapiro has successfully litigated or settled hundreds of personal injury and wrongful death claims throughout the state of California, including cases in San Francisco, Oakland and across the Bay Area. Recognized and respected for his thorough preparation and consummate courtroom skills, attorney Shapiro has consistently maintained a high success rate, winning the vast majority of the trials and motions he has argued.

Mr. Shapiro earned his undergraduate degree in political science with high honors in 1992 from the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Santa Clara Law School in 1996, finishing at the top of his class in torts and business organizations. He also received the highest award for oral advocacy skills in the school’s moot court competition, an award that was personally given to him by former California Supreme Court Justice Edward A. Panelli.

Mr. Shapiro is licensed to practice in all state courts in California and is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California. He focuses his practice on the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury cases and also handles insurance law, product liability and premises liability.

• $3 million judgment for the family of a woman killed on a freeway when a tire  fell off another car and struck her windshield.
• $6,479,000 judgment after verdict and appeal for a spine injury victim who had back surgery due to an elevator accident
• $1,050,000 judgment after verdict for an 87 year old woman knocked down in a Safeway store and had hip surgery as a result
• $3,100,000 settlement before trial of a head on car crash that paralyzed a passenger (adverse driver had only a $30,000 policy)
